NKECHI (NK) IROH DIKE

OMASTYLE BRIDE wedding blog about

Hi there! My name is Nkechi (NK) Iroh Dike; it’s nice to meet you!

I’m the founder and editor-in-chief of OmaStyle Bride. Thank you for visiting the blog. I adore all things wedding! along with home designs and decorations.

I created OmaStyle Bride wedding blog for you—the modern, elegant, multicultural, coordinated Nigerian bride-to-be (and for bride-to-be marrying a Nigerian) seeking practical and helpful information while planning their dream multicultural wedding.

I’m an Investment Operations Manager by trade and a wedding blogger by night. When I am not engulfed in my work or all things wedding and social media (LOL); I love spending my time with my beautiful family.

My journey into my happily married life and love for Nigerian weddings inspired me to create OmaStyle Bride.

Years ago when I got married, I fell in love with weddings. But while planning my wedding, I couldn’t find any wedding planning blog that catered to my need.

I quickly realized the basic information on what brides should expect when planning their multicultural Nigerian weddings (the traditional and church/white wedding) abroad isn’t readily available to help the bride or couple through the process.

Even worst, if the bride doesn’t have a relative who recently got married to share information with her; she is unaware of the delicate and interesting steps of the wedding process, what to expect, and her role, especially with the traditional requirements associated with Nigerian weddings.

Following my passion and experience over the years with Nigerian weddings led me to start OmaStyle Bride.

I created OmaStyle Bride to fill this gap for the newly engaged Nigerian and multicultural brides to help them navigate through the wedding process with ease.

OmaStyle Bride features detail and practical information on what to expect, what goes into planning a Nigerian wedding, ideas, tips, inspirations and much more.

While OmaStyle Bride focus on multicultural Nigerian brides; it’s my hope this blog will also serve as a resource to non-Nigerians who love Nigerian culture and weddings, attending a Nigerian wedding for the first time, or wishes to learn about Nigerian weddings and processes.

Nigeria is a big country with a large, diverse ethnic groups and tribes. I am from the Igbo tribe, and I have learned so much from the time I set out to start this blog about other Nigerian cultural weddings; and I will keep learning to simplify Nigerian wedding process, which I will share in future posts.

I hope you find OmaStyle Bride helpful as you plan your dream wedding or learn about Nigerian weddings!

I wish you all the best with your wedding plans & marriage!

Happy planning, Cheers!

Fun Fact:

I love Nigerian traditional wedding so much that during my traditional wedding in Queens, NY; I created a small booklet for our guests to understand the history and follow along every step of the traditional wedding process – they loved it!
