Ohlanna Bu Zikora Unveiled His Debut Bridal Collection – Egovinu’nwa Bridal Edit
Recently, I discovered an upcoming Nigerian designer making a big impact in the Nigerian bridal industry with his latest designs. And his name is Zikora Ikebuaku, founder of Ohlanna bu Zikora located in Lagos, Nigeria. He is also the winner of the Heineken Design Fashion Africa 2021.
Zikora steps into the bridal world with his debut bridal collection Egovinu’nwa – The Bridal Edit 2026, for his brand Ohlanna bu Zikora. The collection celebrates bold femininity and African bridal elegance. Each design in his debut collection has an Igbo name that reflects his heritage.
In addition, each of the looks in this collection is designed with intention. Sculpting silhouettes that honor a bride’s natural confidence while elevating her presence with couture-level detail. The collection is made up of clean lines, hand-placed floral appliques, and a dramatic tulle gown that creates a powerful balance between softness and strength.
Egovinu’nwa – The Bridal Edit 2026
Zikora draws inspiration from his heritage and contemporary artistry, blending both into gowns that feel fresh, confident, and elevated bridal style. Also, he embraces luxurious fabrics such as silk, structured Tricrotic mounds, and delicate tulle to craft pieces that move beautifully and photograph with striking clarity. Every look in this collection tells a story of identity with Igbo names and celebration of womanhood, while inviting brides to step into their moment with confidence.
When I design wedding dresses, I’m constantly pushing for a kind of simplicity that is very rigorous yet seemingly controlled. I think a wedding dress can be the closest item that actually mirrors a woman essence.
If a bride has low self-esteem you’d see it from her choices, same for a bride who is unabashedly confident. A wedding dress is the purest card of honesty/self-love and should not be confined to the excesses of popular culture or trend. – Zikora Ikebuaku
With his debut bridal collection, there are five distinctive looks for every bride – a show-stopping crystalline bows sculptural puff dress, a court clerk blouse paired with a floral lace skirt, and statement gowns that command attention without overwhelming the bride. Zikora champions craftsmanship, ensuring every stitch reflects his commitment to excellence and individuality.
And with his first collection, Egovinu’nwa – The Bridal Edit 2026, Zikora further positions himself as a designer who understands today’s bride: intentional, stylish, and unafraid to shine. He delivers a refreshing vision of bridal fashion. One that honors culture, embraces modernity, and sets the stage for unforgettable bridal moments with each look. Check out the collection below. And brides, I hope you find inspiration from this collection for your special wedding day.
